Mediterranean burning wildfires, how will it affect Egypt’s weather?

“The Mediterranean is burning”, a statement that made its way to the top of international news headlines throughout the past few days as the wildfires burned for an eighth day in Turkey's Mediterranean region. The wildfires correlated with a surge in weather temperature, that Egypt has witnessed since the beginning of this week.

According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority EMA, the eruption of wildfires in the mediterranean was due to a long-term heat wave that Europe has not witnessed since 1980. It started, late in July, when the temperature in Greece reached 50 degrees and Cyprus reached 47 degrees and fires broke out in southern Turkey until fumes were detected through satellite images.

EMA added, in a statement, that the wave also affected the weather in Egypt, where the temperature yesterday, Wednesday, reached 43 degrees in Cairo, according to the recordings of the monitoring stations, but due to the passage of the hot mass over the Mediterranean, the temperature dropped slightly and gained humidity, which increased the sense of hot weather and high temperature.

According to EMA, the high temperature will continue for Today and Tomorrow, but with the beginning of the next week, it will decrease slightly and then rise again. “No significant decrease in temperatures has been detected in the maps so far”.

With regard to today’s weather, it’s worth mentioning that, Very hot, humid weather prevails during the day and slightly hot and humid at night.
