Tiktok videos, allegedly shot and posted 6 years ahead of the World’s present time became the talk of the town and the mysterious ongoing trend. The videos of empty Spanish streets with no signs of human life, were posted by a young TikToker called Javier, who claimed that he had been trapped in 2027 since he woke up in hospital in his city, Valencia, and started his TikTok account “Unico Sobreviviente” or “the sole survivor”.
The whole story has witnessed wide spread and increased attention of millions of followers since Javier started his account, last February, where users received it differently and started looking for explanations for the unfolding story. Some users assumed that Javier is trapped in another temporal dimensions, others suggested the videos were shot in the lockdown time and asked Javier to re-shoot new videos in specific places and ask AI devices about the day’s date. Some Middle Eastern users posted that these are World Ending signs.
The story behind the “sole survivor” account
An explanation to the story was finally made and the truth was revealed when the Spanish news website “Audiovisual451” posted a story announcing that “Beta Spain”, Spanish media production company, will produce a TV show called “The Sole Survivor”, that would tell the story which originated from TikTok.
Beta Spain mentioned that the show would tell the story of a young man who suddenly woke up at a hospital to find himself in 2027 where he found that all the smart watches and emails confirm the fact that it is the year 2027. The production company also confirmed that the viral content posted by the TikTok account is produced by a specialized team of technicians in promotion of the show.
Who is Javier?
The name “Javier” which has been linked to all the videos posted in the TikTok account “last survivor” or “sole survivor”, belongs to Javier Pérez De Silva, the co-founder and CEO of the show’s production company. Before taking his current position, Javier worked as director of various TV programs and CEO another Spanish media production company.
Before leading the company with his partners, Javier held the position of Director of Programs at El Mundo TV, Managing Director of P52 and Pulso TV and CEO of Fremantle Media in Spain, and wrote a lot about television such as “TV is dead, TV simply said,” and is an expert in International Markets He is the creative mind behind hundreds of hours of successful television in Spain.
Javier also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Law from the University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in Television Companies from the Instituto Empresa, and has worked as an Associate Professor at the College of Communication at the University of Navarra and the College of Communication at CEU San Pablo. Centro Villanueva College of Communication, in addition to participating as a visiting professor in several master's programs throughout Spain.
