After a long journey of presenting fun and laughter in a comic sense that managed to find its way to the hearts and souls of millions of Egyptian from different generations, Samir Ghanem died, today, at the age of 84 after a journey of suffering.
“For 60 years Samir Ghanem managed to keep present in the limelight” said the critic Magda Mouris. In spite of the fact that in the last decade he rarely participated in dramatic or cinema works except this with his daughter Amy and Donia, he played worth-recalling roles.
Mouris: Samir was a package inclusive of all success factors
Samir Ghanem was a “package inclusive of all success factors” where he began his acting career alongside the beginnings of the Egyptian Television and the end of the 23rd of July war, Mouris added. There was a demand for presenting works that promoted happiness and a sense of humor back then. Thus, Samir Ghanem and George Sedhom established their squad in Alexandria back when Samir was a student in the Faculty of Agriculture in Alexandria University and both actors decided to start their television theater. Later Al-Deif Ahmed joined them.
Mouris added to “Trendify '' that what “Tholathy Adwa'a El Masrah'' managed to achieve was unprecedented since they managed to bring about laughter through dancing, singing and acting. The presence Samir Ghanem led amid the beginning of a new regime and society made him a pioneer of the whole industry.
Mouris: after separation of “Tholathy Adwa'a El Masrah'' Samir was the most successful
Mouris mentioned that even after separation from the squad Samir Ghanem was the most successful thanks to his unprecedented talent. “He was able to say the same line in many ways that never failed to make the audience laugh”. Moreover, He succeeded in striking a balance between talent, persistence, being cultured and working hard for his work to succeed and find its audience.
Mouris: No one of this generation can be compared to Samir
“No one of the contemporary generation will create the same state Samir created or be compared to him” Mouris said. If there is a word to goodbye the favorite actor of all generations it will be “thank you for pleasing us and gave us the ageless sense of delight or humor for half a century and we will never forget you”.
According to Hanan Shouman, the artistic critic, the keyword in the case of Samir Ghanem is that he lived with the audience for consecutive generations and this made his art ageless in terms of the comedian sense that didn’t fail to make this decade’s adults and the last one’s children to laugh out loud.
Shouman: The taste of Samir's art was different and renewable
Continuity was another thing that made Samir different and outstanding, Shouman added to “Trendify”. The taste of what he presented was different and renewable over time as he managed to present attractive comedy for children of later generations like “Fatouta”.
Shouman added that Samir’s theater characters is what will stay in minds and hearts forever even beyond his age on earth and will make people pray for him for all the fun he succeeded in creating even in the darkest of times.
