“Leh la” released the trailer for the second season and it is back again to inspire and encourage women of all ages to be who they really are, fearlessly and courageously. After the success of the first season, starring Amina khalil as (Alia) and her journey to break free of her controlling conservative family to lead her own independent life, and the conflict that arises as a result.
The series is back with another women empowering tale starring Menna Shalaby and Ahmed Hatem telling the story of a woman who seeks motherhood and wants to adopt a child, facing all the obstacles from the idea of raising a child on her own to the judgments and the naïve mindset of the society.
“Every society has a specific group of people who simply can not change, not to mention all the social and moral prohibitions, this series is all about people who chose to say no, Women who take their rights not just demand it,” said Maryam Naoum to “Trendify”.
Naoum also added that in each season there will be an answer to some issues in the Egyptian and Arab society.
“One of the hardest challenges in directing the series was that we were fighting norms and old traditions that people grew up on, so while filming the series we were so careful because we do not want to offend anyone by mistake, you have to be extremely careful when you deliver such messages, you're trying to change people's perspective to life so you have to earn them as audience” said director Mariam Abou Ouf to trendify
The key for getting people to relate to your characters is to select actors who can give people the true emotions and real life conversation they go through every day, that's why the first season of “leh la” was a success, you do recall seeing two actors from Tiktok in an episode and people were shocked of how real the scene was, “it is the relevance that we aspire, if one person related to just one scene or one actor then I’d say we made it” Abou Ouf added.
The series will air on shahid.net, directed by Mariam Abo Ouf, it is written by a “Sard” workshop under the supervision of scriptwriter Maryam Naoum, dialogue by Dina Najm, and the episodes were written by Salma Abdel Wahab and Rajia Hassan.
