Trending on TikTok with over 125 million views, the Ramadan contest features livestreams with well-known actors and actresses, Amir Karara, Hend Sabry, Hala Sheha, Nelly Karim and Tamer Habib.
The celebrities announced their participation in this Ramadan series on their official TikTok accounts, where each week one of them would be hosting a live stream on TikTok, cooking a meal with one or more of the ingredients in the ‘mystery box’ they would be opening in the livestream.
“Send us your recreated dishes using one of the ingredients from the mystery box, and the best recipes will be featured on the show”, said the actors in their promo for the show.
The show would be hosted Live on TikTok every Saturday and Wednesday for two weeks during Ramadan, starting the 21st of April until the 5th of May. The winners of the contest would be announced on the 10th of May.
TikTok aims to create a space for users to share experiences and spread positivity. Another trending hashtag #createdelight gained over 142 million views. "The holy month of Ramadan is about embracing the spirit of giving and lighting up a thousand smiles," wrote TikTok on its platform, encouraging users to 'spread Ramadan happiness and share smiles'.
TikTok also collaborated with Go Araby, an Emirati online TV channel, encouraging people to share educational riddles on TikTok using the hashtag #فوازير_ثقافية which is trending with over 62 million views. And another hashtag trending with over 9 million views, #فوازير_رياضية, in collaboration with 90+ Kora, for sharing any fun sports riddles.
