“Valley of Wonders”: Graduation project shedding light on 7 tourism types in the New Valley

Whenever the term “Internal Tourism” is mentioned, thoughts could possibly go to the well known Egyptian landmarks such as Luxor and Aswan for winter or Dahab and Hurghada for summer. However, other Egyptian governorates might include overlooked wonders that miss the required focus to be recognized by tourists.

Shedding light on Egypt’s overlooked wonders represented the objective that a group of Mass Communication students at a private university had while constructing their graduation project’s campaign, “Valley of Wonders”, whereby they highlighted 7 types of tourism available at New Valley Governorate that would make it full of wonders to its visitors to experience.

Nada Kamel, team member of “Valley of Wonders” campaign, said the governorate, located in Egypt’s Western desert, had a lot to offer to its visitors as it would provide them a variety of activities through the wide ranging tourism types made available. “Entertainment and medical tourism are available where activities like sand-boarding and meditation sessions are popular in New Valley”.

“Although New Valley is not popular among Egyptian youth as a vacation trendy spot, it has a lot of fun and entertainment to offer to any traveller”, Kamel mentioned. Eco-tourism and camping spots for relaxation could be easily found and used to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Kamel added that the 8-member team included many different personalities that they made good use of where each member found his/her interest in a specific type of tourism that allowed them to focus on different angles and express the variety of options that the New Valley would provide ita visitors with through videos and photos of the different vacation spots and tourism landmarks.

“Tourism in Egypt started to change and youth are usually looking for what’s new”, Kamel said in a description of the motive of her team to adopt this idea to hold a campaign about for their graduation project.

Kamel added to “Trendify” that since the team leading the campaign belong, themselves, to the demographics of the campaign’s target audience, they personalized thr campaign in the media they shared about it and the way they utilized their social media platforms in order to make it more reachable.
