According to swimwear designer Mayyada Abdallah, 2021’s swimwear will be full of life and diverse fabrics.
“It is as if we are double celebrating this summer to make up for summer 2020 when we were quarantined”. So let’s see what summer 2021 has brought us according to two swimwear designers,
Cut-Outs
No more side or back cutouts, this summer trend is very common in stores and everyone is seeking this style whether if it is the one shoulder model or the off shoulder one, “it adds to the shape of the body and improves its look but you have to make sure that the cut is secured and tight to that it won't allow water through and ruin the whole look” advised Mayyada Abdallah.
Shimmery Metallic
According to the designer, it is more of an 80’s look but it is back not just for swimwear but also in pants and tops. It is a great material for swimsuits since it takes the shape of one’s body, it doesn’t absorb much water and it gives such a chic, stylish vibe.
Animal Print
Tiger pattern, zebra and even cow patterns are a “huge hit” this summer, the colors and the shapes of the print itself really gives funky energy and a good summery vibe, not to mention that it definitely looks good on both one piece and two piece swimwear.
All Knotted Up
A knot in the middle of the chest in the swimsuits enhances the shape of the body. “It is perfect for all body shapes. It is such a simple design yet it is a beautiful and perfect choice for those who love simplicity” said designer Abdallah.

“Flower patterns are this year’s trend, last year’s and next year’s trend,” we all adore these colorful, cheerful patterns. It always brings life to any design and it is always a great choice for sunny Summer days.
Layers in Burkini
According to Fadwa Al-Hamawy, Burkini and Islamic swimwear designer, a Burkini has two main parts, an overall and a mini skirt, layers are added on both skirt and the shoulders with smooth simple touches to give a simple and a practical look to the swimsuit.
Smooth Colors
We are used to seeing only black Burkini, this Summer, the colorful Burkinis are taking all the rage, it allows women to wear more colorful scarves and gives the summer vibe that we all aspire to reach.
Waves and Other Funky Patterns
“Since colors are in, why not drag in edgy patterns?”, said Al-Hamawy, for those who would rather stick to the black swimsuit but need just a little bit of spice to it, this is your ultimate choice.
